Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed now heads to Android and iOS. The game will feature Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue, however it is unknown how many other platforms he will be on.
SEGA has teased an announcement that Shadow the Hedgehog could appear in the smartphone game Sonic Dash. They shared the image above right and said “Get ready for the ultimate challenge”. The teaser suggests that he could appear in some form. It’s unknown if Shadow could playable or not, though is anyone’s guess. We will update it when it is announced!
Sonic Jump which is a pay download is now at 8 million downloads. while the speedy free to play Sonic Dash is currently at 20 million downloads. Actively 1 million dashers played the game, as of 11th July 2013.
The Chief Technical Officer of the game’s developers Hardlight Studios, a British smartphone, tablet and PC Games developer, Chris Southall said that those two Sonic games were doing very well and played daily and:
“You can just see that Sonic is such a big IP; we haven’t actually done any advertising or user acquisition yet on Sonic Dash, We’re doing updates through the year, we’re going to to keep doing that, and using the learning we’ve gained as a studio. And [we’re going to] start to actually advertise the game and push it more. So hopefully where we are now with Sonic Dash is kind of the beginning rather than the end.”
SEGA’s new smartphone game, Sonic Dash has just been officially announced. It will be a 3D infinite runner.

SEGA has now confirmed Sonic Dash, after SEGA’s UK studio Hardlight Software announced details of the game on a LinkedIn job posting.
“At this time, Sega is able to confirm that we are working on a new mobile game titled Sonic Dash. We have not announced any specific details on the product but we will be releasing additional information on this exciting, new game in the near future.”
The new Sonic iOS games has Sonic running automatically, but players have to help Sonic avoid enemies and collect rings. Scenery changes as the player progresses but it would record how many metres the player has travelled. Game Center is supported but what features are incorporated have not yet been revealed.
According to the game’s developer, Hardlight Games (a company owned by SEGA) they’ve announced on their Twitter page after a Sonic fan replied to them, that they will be releasing Sonic Jump on Android before Christmas.
SEGA has now announced a new series of smartphone games called Sonic Jump. The game is where you touch Sonic to jump on things.
